Making art is fun!
I love to make things! Jokes, rhymes, food, smoothies, lists, and as you can see from this page, paintings and drawings. I have gone through many phases with my creativity, as far as the visual and performing arts. I’ve written plays, shot and edited film and video, experienced theatre as an actor, director and producer, performed as a stand-up comedian, and hosted and produced comedy and music shows, as well as open mic nights.
Meditation is also a huge part of my life. Having the physicists’ proven belief that everything is energy, the form of meditation that I practice validates energy, and its affect on us. The meditative visualization techniques that I use are the foundation of all that I do. During meditation and my everyday life. Including assisting me to more fully enjoy the creative process.
Currently, I am writing a meditation book that I hope to release later this year, 2023. The techniques have helped me so much, I love being able to share them with the hope they will help others too. After benefiting from the techniques for many years, I completed a teaching program and became a certified meditation teacher. In addition to classes, I also offer one-on-one coaching sessions for a more personalized experience.
Everything is energy. Including art!
I love animals! I fulfilled a life-long dream when I wrote my first, and so far only, children’s book. I Love all the Animals in this World. It is a children’s picture ebook written in rhyme and available on Smashwords, and other online retail sites. It contains photos. My second children’s book I hope to illustrate. Sammy, above, was part of my practice for the process.
My friend Lupe’s favorite colors are red and black, so I of course needed to paint a piece for her birthday! If you have a special occasion coming up, keep this in mind!
My newest painting phase has been creating my Fiesta Squares, as seen below. They are typically 4×4 canvases, though sometimes smaller or larger. Why fiesta? Because each one is a party adding a unique burst of color to your wall, shelf, home, office or car! You can bring them along when you travel, as a bit of home away from home wherever you go!
While working on my B.A. and studying theatre, I discovered how fun it was to drip candle wax on my abstract acrylic paintings. To the left, and below, are four samplings.
